Natalia Spampinato
Pastry Chef Natalia Spampinato had a passion for baking since the first
time her father taught her to make a loaf of the Spampinato family bread
when she was three years old and she has always loved to lick the beaters
after making a batch of
chocolate chip cookies. Ever since then it's been impossible to keep her out
of the kitchen.
Natalia was born and raised in Denver, CO. She graduated from the
International Baccalaureate Program at George Washington High School and
then attended Lewis and Clark College as well as the University of Colorado
at Denver. She moved on from college
to pursue a baking and pastry job at Andre's Confiserie Suisse where she
learned from a classically trained Swiss pastry chef.
After mastering European pastries she moved to Frasca Food and Wine, in
Boulder, CO, where she was the assistant pastry chef. Here she gained a deep
appreciation for traditional Italian food. The staff trip to Venice and
Friuli, Italy with
James Beard award winning chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson and Master
Sommelier Bobby Stuckey confirmed her love for the Italian way of life, and
eating.
Natalia is now the pastry chef at Il Posto where she is thrilled to create
daily dessert menus based on the best ingredients in Colorado.
