Janice Dean
Janice Dean joins the staff at Il Posto bringing with her the knowledge
and experience of the industry only second to an unmistakable passion for
that which led her to us: a love for wine. A long time resident of Denver,
Colorado, Janice has worked at a professional level for several successful
restaurants within the community while ambitiously striving to expand on her
understanding of viticulture. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, her
exposure to the restaurant business commenced while working on an
undergraduate degree as a musician. It was from this humble beginning that
she developed an earnest interest for the world of wine and its significance
to its culinary counterpart. A self taught enthusiast for years, Janice
transitioned toward certified professional after joining the Denver chapter
of the International Wine Guild in 2007, completing an advanced course
diploma program. Janice’s current endeavors are dedicated solely to her work
at Il Posto but transcend beyond that as she aims not only to educate but
inspire; her artistic nature the extension of her work as a sommelier,
exposing others to the magical symbiosis of food with wine as such is the
importance of harmony to a composition.
